Rushmore National Park Campgrounds


Mount Rushmore
Mount Rushmore National Memorial, surrounded by the Black Hills National Forest, is 25 miles southwest of Rapid City, South Dakota, via US Highway 16; and 3 miles from Keystone via US Highway 16A and South Dakota Highway 244. Major airlines and bus routes serve Rapid City.The park has food service and a gift shop; food service is limited in winter. Motels, campgrounds and picnic areas are available in nearby communities and in Black Hills National Forest.

All facilities at Mount Rushmore National Memorial are wheelchair accessible.Parking for the disabled is available as well as a limited number of wheelchairs that can be checked out, free of charge, at the Information CenterNo camping, lodging or overnight rv facilities are available within Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

Mount Rushmore National Park Campgrounds
Mount  Rushmore National Park  (nps.gov), located in South Dakota's Black Hills, is among the most widely recognized symbols of America’s freedom and hope. The main attraction of the park, Mount Rushmore, features the faces of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.Keystone is home to two campgrounds, each less than two miles from Mount Rushmore. Holy Smoke Resort (holysmokeresort.com) is situated on 75 acres.

Campgrounds
Activities and amenities vary near the campgrounds, depending on which lodge the grounds are affiliated with. The Blue Bell Resort Campground has 30 tent or RV sites and 23 camping cabins. Within a mile of the campground are laundry facilities and a park store,  Australian Beach Culture for Travelers  which provides fuel, basic supplies, and gifts. Nearby activities include fishing, horseback riding, chuck wagon dinners, and hay rides.

Camping near Badlands/Mount Rushmore
We are planning a cross country National Parks trip and we can not figure out where to stay when we go to the Mount Rushmore area. We will be camping; are there any good central locations? We want to see Mount Rushmore, Crazy horse and the Badlands. Thanks for any suggestions!We are in the center of all five major Black Hills attractions: Mount Rushmore National Monument
